Towns, settlements and townsites, from the gold camps and stage stops of the 1850s and 1860s to the railroad towns and farm communities that followed. Some are living towns today; many survive only as a name, a cemetery or a few foundations. The map has 62 so far, 31 of them historic or vanished.
