The Pineries: first sawmill 1860, logging peak 1870 (1987 plan). A center at Shoup and Black Forest roads in the 1930s; log school 1922; PO April 16, 1960; five-acre zoning 1965. Point is the GNIS populated place; the CDP's center is farther northeast.
