Resort in south Palmer Lake. Peter Paul Blass's cabins and 'Columbine Park' (Mrs. Blass bought 40 acres in 1897); W. C. Pickens's Pine Crest of 1908-09, with bowling alley, billiard hall, swimming pool, a pro ball team and the D&RG's old dance pavilion; Dr. Fred R. Baker's Pine Crest Inn; Newton E. Medlock from 1920; the Methodist Epworth League's conference camp from about 1928; the Salvation Army's Elephant Rock Camp in the old Inn from 1938 (Sabin, S-0019, pp. 76, 90-92, 113-14).

USGS GNIS Populated Place 193243. The 1909 plat covered the N½NE¼ of Sec. 8, T11S R67W south of Monument and South Monument creeks (McFarling in Sabin, S-0019, p. 90 n. 10); the GNIS point falls inside it (BLM PLSS). The 1976 survey: 'pine crest, confluence of n. & s. monument creeks in palmer lake' (B55, S-0101).
