POs Virginia Sept. 1869, Frost's Ranch Feb. 1871, Rock Ridge Feb. 1872 to March 31, 1892 (mail to Castle Rock); Case 1897, Irving 1913-1920. Crofutt (1881): 'Formerly Ivan Cracken … at the head of Cherry Creek Canon.' The name covered ranches from Antelope Creek to East Cherry Creek.

Approximate (about half a mile): the Rock Ridge school (District 24) stood 'on the top of a ridge to the east of' the Russellville Road-Hwy 83 intersection (DCL schools page); the Rock Ridge-Case cemetery is half a mile west along Hwy 83; Place Names of Colorado puts Case in Sec. 18, T9S R65W, half a mile north-west; an 1889 road 'in Rock Ridge' started in Sec. 20, T9S R65W.
