What we know

Robert Woodhouse's father bought 80 acres from Greenleaf Lowell in 1873, added a timber claim and a pre-emption, lived in a dugout while building a house that burned, and sold butter in Denver; houses, a barn and three windmills over 50 years old remain. Colorado Centennial Farm, 1986 (county map, S-0123; S-0128).

Where it was

On the fringe of the Divide outline (2.6 miles outside its edge), included as a fringe place. Pin on the Douglas County Historic Resource Map (DCHR-042; S-0123). Where that map and ours place the same site, the pins mostly fall within about 300 feet. Good to a few hundred feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
