What we know

Lawrence and Olive Waterhouse homesteaded 160 acres among the Roxborough red rocks in 1910 and built a 14-by-24-foot brick house with brick from the Silica Brick Company; corn, cane, wheat, oats, cattle and hogs. He died in 1925 and she sold in 1927; the land became part of Roxborough State Park in 1997 (county map, S-0123).

Where it was

On the fringe of the Divide outline (3.9 miles outside its edge), included as a fringe place. Pin on the Douglas County Historic Resource Map (DCHR-031; S-0123). Where that map and ours place the same site, the pins mostly fall within about 300 feet. Good to a few hundred feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
