What we know
George Ratcliff, from England in 1860, started the ranch. The Pueblo Revival house was built in 1931-32 for Reginald Sinclaire, who had served in the French Foreign Legion and the U.S. Navy; the ranch grew to 4,500 acres and bred the runner-up in the 1946 Kentucky Derby. Sold to Perry Park's developers in 1965; National Register, 1991 (county map, S-0123, citing the 1983 county master plan appendix and Appleby).
Where it was
Pin on the Douglas County Historic Resource Map (DCHR-023; Douglas County and Douglas County Libraries, 2012, on the Larkspur Historical Society's Google map, S-0123). Where that map and ours place the same site, the pins mostly fall within about 300 feet. Good to a few hundred feet.
Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
