What we know

A ranch founded in 1863; the stone house was built in 1889 by John Kinner, a Denver pioneer of 1859, mule-team driver and cowboy (county map, S-0123, quoting the 1983 county master plan appendix). The Glen Grove school stood 'below the John Kenner place' in 1876. Elizabeth Kinner's obituary (1930) says she married John Kinner in Denver in 1871 (S-0122). National Register Oct. 11, 1974 (county landmarks map, S-0126).

Where it was

Pin on the Douglas County Historic Resource Map (DCHR-012; Douglas County and Douglas County Libraries, 2012, on the Larkspur Historical Society's Google map, S-0123). Where that map and ours place the same site, the pins mostly fall within about 300 feet. Good to a few hundred feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
