The Pratts came in 1867 for a sawmill and homesteaded 'at the near corner of Greenland Rd. and Hwy. 83'; Harry C. Pratt's lone grave marker is on the old homestead. Place Names of Colorado's Spring Valley section is this farm.

Center of Sec. 1, T10S R66W: 'substantial farmer of section 1, township 10, range 66 west' (Portrait and Biographical Record, 1898). Good to about half a mile.
