What we know
A D&RG station between Larkspur and Greenland. Accounts differ: Jackson says the railroad reached 'Pineland,' about four miles south of Larkspur, on Sept. 24, 1871, and that the station was renamed Greenland, and a 1966 column says Greenland was 'first called Pineland' (Larkspur Historical Society binder 1 pp. 239-240, Larkspur Historical Society binder 10 p. 17); but Scott's map and the society's Earth map place Pineland Station separately, about 1.5 miles south of Larkspur and 1.7 miles north of Greenland (S-0123; S-0106).
Where it was
Pin in the Larkspur Historical Society's Google Earth version of the county map ('DC Resources,' Train Depot folder), read from the feature's card on screen, 2026-10-07 (S-0123). The pin follows the label 'Pineland Station (North Pine)' on a society map (Larkspur Historical Society binder 1 p. 114, after Scott); good to about a quarter mile.
Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
