What we know

Irving post office, moved from Case June 24, 1913 (John W. Hill, postmaster), discontinued April 15, 1920, mail to Cherry; NE1/4 Sec. 8, T9S R65W, 300 feet north of East Cherry Creek (Bauer, via S-0123). The county map says it was named for W. I. (Washington Irving) Whittier, postmaster, minister, teacher and editor of the Castle Rock Journal.
