What we know

One-room log church built in 1940 from logs cut and given by members, who also did the work; in 1976 a sign over the door read 'Christian Science Services' (PPLD record of survey B22; the 1987 Black Forest Preservation Plan's Map 2 No. 18). Sunday school from 1932 (von Ahlefeldt p. 101). Incorporated 1937 on two acres at the SE corner given by the Collins and Morrell fox farm (von Ahlefeldt) or 'the Wilkie Collins and C. Modell families' (Ellett p. 46). Basement 1939, log church 1940 (von Ahlefeldt); services by 1940 and a formal opening in October 1942 (Ellett).
