Stone Canyon School

SchoolsHistoric or vanishedDouglas County

What we know

Listed in some sources as District 15, Larkspur's number; a frame school on the west side of Highway 105, a little over a mile south of Fox Farm Road; no longer a school by 1947 and torn down by 1978 (county map, S-0123). The Larkspur column mentions the Stone Canon school in 1908 (S-0122).

Where it was

Pin on the Douglas County Historic Resource Map (DCHR-210; Douglas County and Douglas County Libraries, 2012, on the Larkspur Historical Society's Google map, S-0123). Where that map and ours place the same site, the pins mostly fall within about 300 feet. Good to a few hundred feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
