## What we know

Built in 1891 by Charles Roberts, an investor in the Red Stone Town, Land and Mining Company: of the village of Lake Wauconda platted around the lake, 'only two homes built, the Manor House built in 1891 by Charles Roberts and the Jaques home' (Larkspur binder 1 p. 231, S-0005; also S-0243). The Castle Rock Writers' book, which calls him 'Charles A. Robert,' says much of the original millwork remains (S-0261, p. 64). It became the clubhouse of the Perry Park Country Club, founded in 1969 (S-0243).

## Where it was

The club's history says the Roberts home 'is now the clubhouse' (S-0243); placed on the clubhouse, the large building beside the parking lot and rows of golf carts on the east shore of Waucondah Reservoir (Lake Wauconda), on current aerial imagery (Esri World Imagery, viewed 2026-10-20). That fits the book's house 'on a bluff overlooking' the golf course with a view of the lake (S-0261, p. 64). Good to about 100 feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
