## What we know

Museum of wood carving south of Monument: incorporated in 1969, it showed more than 7,000 carvings on 11 acres, with 20-foot totem poles marking the turnoffs, and its monthly The Mallet went to 3,200 members. The Tribune of April 26, 1990 reported it 'probably closed for good' after 15 years open, under bonds and loans it could not carry (Rob Carrigan, Colorado Restless Native, 2014, S-0001). A PPLD catalog note says it closed in 2011 (S-0218); whether it reopened after 1990 is not known.

## Where it was

14960 Woodcarver Road, the address in PPLD's 1982 photograph record (S-0218), via the El Paso County address locator (2026-10-17). Good to the parcel. Carrigan's 'field at the corner of Baptist Road' fits.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
