## What we know

A special office supplied from Castle Rock, 12 miles northwest, for 'a country place' of about 300, a quarter mile east of Cherry Creek. A note at the top reads 'Name changed Irving'. Irving's report of Feb. 28, 1914 (John W. Hill, postmaster) puts the office in the NE1/4 of Sec. 8, T9S R65W, 2.2 miles north-northeast, the section that held the Virginia office (site reports, NARA M1126, S-0113). PO Case 1897-1913, Irving 1913-1920.

NE1/4 of Sec. 19, T9S R65W, from Washington I. Whittier's post office site report of July 24, 1897; its diagram marks the office at the east edge of the section, at the creek (NARA M1126, S-0113). Good to about a quarter mile.
